The path marked with the blue band from Cabana Mălăiești to Omu successively crosses glacial thresholds resulting from the action of under-digging the ice, after which it reaches the glacial circus. Impressive are the ridges that surround this large valley Bucșoiu glacial cirque, the Turnul Mălăieștilor (Tower) and Hornurile (the chimneys).
The main path at 1910 m branches to Brâna Caprelor (blue triangle) with a high degree of difficulty. The marked indicators still signal a difficult path, successions of thresholds with agglomerations of large blocks and thus we reach the base of the Hornul Mare (Great Chimney). From here the road becomes even more difficult to access through the chimney, with large blocks of stone and a mobile rubble that is unbalanced at the slightest movement. In the shelter of the walls, snow persists until late July, being in fact the only source meant to quench the thirst of those who come from Mălăiești. At the top after a difficult climb, in Curmătura Mălăiești the path meets those coming from Ciubotea, Clincea and Gaura de la Bran (red cross, red band and red triangle).
The path at the base of the Great Horn of Mălăiești is the one we recommend through the serpentines that it describes below, you can reach Cabana Omu. The road on the Mălăiești valley offers a beautiful perspective on the Postăvaru massif, of the Bârsa plain and of Măgurii Codlea. However, it is difficult, the water supply can be made at Diham and Cabana Mălăiești. Not recommended in the cold season.
