track numberT16. Cabana Coștila - Cabana Omu

From Curmătura Șugării, which separates its glacial caldera from that of Cerbul, the path climbs on Colții Obârșiei where on a rock spur there are two paths, one in winter on top and another at the base that crosses the brooks that converge in deer glacial circus. This road runs mostly on roads and rubble. The route is also known as Brâna din Cerdacul Obârșiei. Along this route you follow the landscape of the deer glacial valley guarded by the Morarului and Coștila Fangs and on the left rises the Omul and Bucura Peaks.

The path draws an arc of a circle that ends in Curmătura Vău Cerbului, which separates the glacial circuses of the two valleys opposite Cerbului and Ialomița. We pass in turn the top of Văii Cerbului, the path that comes on Ialomița de la Peștera (blue band) the path from Strunga (red band) and on a ridge under Vârful Bucura we reach Cabana Omu.

The perspective offered from this narrow platform can hardly be met to the north the ridges we distinguish Piatra Mare and Postavaru, to the northeast Ciucașu, Zăganu and Gârbova to the south Vârful cu Dor, Furnica, Jepii Mici, Jepi Mari, Coștila, Colții Obârșiei, Valea Ialomiței, to the northwest we can distinguish Măgura Codlei, which also dominates the magură brănene, the walls of Pietrei Craiului over which the ridge of Făgărășilor rises in the last plan. After a rigid block of stone we see the construction of the weather station located at the highest altitude in the country.
