The hermitage "Sfânta Treime" is located in Tanacu commune, on "Dealul Viei", in a picturesque natural setting, close to Benești village, in the northeastern part of Vaslui municipality.
Although the Tanacu monastery is of recent date, the collective memory preserves the memory of a hermitage in this area, which influenced the local spiritual life, but about which there is no concrete information.
The hermitage was founded in 1999, with the blessing of Bishop Ioachim Mareș of Hușilor, with a community of monks. The founders of the place of worship were the spouses Gheorghe and Doina Anton-Georgescu, and the land was offered by the Local Council of the Tanacu Municipality.
The construction of the chapel dedicated to the "Coverage of the Mother of God" began on August 1, 2000 and was completed in less than a month. It was also then that the site for the wall church, in the shape of a cross, with a closed porch, named after the "Holy Trinity" was consecrated.
A new body of building, intended for public cells, a chapel - dedicated to Saints George, Procopius and Artemie, and a new refectory, began to take shape, the works being almost completed.
After temporarily hosting a community of nuns, starting in 2011, the hermitage became monks again, belonging to the Bujoreni Monastery, with the abbot hieromonk Metodie Bălănescu.
The nine monks who live here combine prayer with work, striving to maintain the spiritual atmosphere specific to the old monastic hearth, which is said to have existed in this place.
