It represents one of the most beautiful protected mineralized marshes in Romania, with an area of 1 ha, located 7 km south of Miercurea Ciuc, between the Sîncraieni commune and the Olt river. In this area, on a straight meadow, there are numerous mineral springs that form marshes permanently fed by warm water (15-20°C), distinguished by moss cones and phanerogamous plants. There are two main marshes, separated by a new road: one to the east (the actual 6000 m² reserve) and one to the west, protected by the Miercurea Ciuc County Council.
Vegetation near the springs includes Saxifraga hirculus and Skydew (Drosera anglica), and further on, dwarf birch (Betula humilis) and mountain dogwood (Ligularia sibirica f. araneosa). The flora is rich in bryophyte species such as peat moss (Sphagnum spp.) and flowering plants such as sedge (Eriophorum spp.), sedges (Carex spp.), white sedge (Parnasia palustris), Comarum palustre, clovers (Menyanthes trifoliata) and mountain gorse (Ligularia sibirica f. araneosa).
