The building served as a residence for a famous jeweller, who, between 1560 and 1563, decorated the facade with Renaissance-style stone frames created by the craftsman Petrus Italus from Lugano.
A proof of this is the framing of the road gate, which resembles those of the portals of the evangelical church in the Central Square.
The house bears the symbols of the goldsmiths' guild, represented by two chalices in bas-relief, carved on the frame of the semicircular window.
Inside, on the ground floor, the building has a semi-cylindrical vaulted passageway, a room with an ogival vault and two other rooms with semi-cylindrical vaults.
Casa Argintarului went through various interior transformations over time. In 1758, the building burned, and in 1939 it was on the verge of demolition, but it was saved by the intervention of Nicolae Iorga, who appealed to the town hall.
After 1950, the building on Dornei Street, no. 5, became the property of the state and was restored according to the plans of the architect Ștefan Balș.
Regarding the educational activity, the school offers everyone, regardless of experience, the opportunity to cultivate their voice, learn to play various instruments, paint or dance.
