The events related to the tribute to the poet George Coșbuc 80 years after his death, on the occasion of which the gravestones of the poet's great-grandfather and parents were changed, commemorative plaques were unveiled and various works were carried out to rehabilitate the museum ensemble of at Hordou.
The current museum was conceived in 1986, based on a thematic exhibition plan made by the researcher Constantin Catalano, with the support of the president of the Bistrița-Năsăud County Council, Mihai Marina. The museum ensemble has been completely rehabilitated.
The windows and doors of the old building were redone, a shed was built for the exhibition of household objects, an outdoor amphitheater, a two-level administrative building, and the Coșbucenilor mill was rebuilt. Also, the mill street was asphalted and the path from the mill cobbled.
The mill became functional, hydrotechnical arrangements were made on Sălăuța, which brought water through a special channel to put the mill into operation, to the delight of visitors and students, but also for the nostalgia of the elderly.
The first three rooms of the poet's house (tenda, guest room and cell) reconstruct the atmosphere of his childhood through objects from the inventory of the priest Sebastian Coșbuc's family. Furniture, books, paintings and decorative objects complete this idyllic and patriarchal atmosphere.
In the family's living room, a documentary exhibition illustrates the national and universal value of the poet. In the fifth room, the former pantry, aspects of the history of the museum are presented, with an emphasis on the Centenary of George Coșbuc's birth in 1966. The poet's library and some personal items are housed in the former parish office.
At the end, the visitor is invited to see the exhibition of household objects and then to visit the mill-museum, a picturesque and quiet place in the middle of nature, from where you can see the poplars that still "mourning the eternal".
