Also known as the only Voroneț in Transylvania, the Assumption Church in Băile Tușnad was built in 1939.
Located in the center of the town, it is open to tourists throughout the year, without charging a visitation fee. The paintings that decorate the walls are the attractions that immediately catch the attention of passers-by. The church is a faithful replica of the Reunification Cathedral from Alba Iulia, from an architectural point of view, through the Bell Tower through which the building is entered. The church is distinguished by the Byzantine style, having the shape of a cross with three apses.
The porch is made in Brancoven style, standing out through the massive stone columns carved in the shape of a braided rope. Quarry stone and brick were used as building materials.
Currently, the wide open doors of the Orthodox church allow tourists from the resort and other believers from the entire area to participate in the Holy Liturgy.
