On the frontispiece of the house of the architect Gh. Ionescu-Berechet is the Oath Cross, a historical monument with deep meanings. About two meters high, the cross, made of stone, was erected in 1674 by the community of Câmpulung. The message inscribed on it recalls a distinctive feature of social life in the history of Campulungu.

Throughout history, Câmpulungul had the privilege of benefiting from various self-management, economic and jurisdictional rights, recorded in numerous documents.

The cross of the oath establishes that anyone who was elected to the office of county of the city was obliged to take an oath not only in the church, but also in front of this sacred monument.

The inscription mentions that this monument was erected under the care of Andrea, the county, who stamped his name in the history of the city as a tireless defender of common interests.
