In this area, approximately 100 meters to the right, are the remains of the Roman fort from Jidova, built here by the conquerors of Dacia to guard the road over the Rucăr-Bran pass. It occupies an area of more than 12,000 square meters and is one of the best preserved castles on the territory of our country.

Built by the Roman emperor Commodus and consolidated by Septimius Severus (193-211), the Jidava fort had a rectangular configuration, with sides of 132.25 meters and 98.65 meters, respectively.
