Gh. Apostoleanu, university professor, lawyer, senator and deputy, founded Casa Apostoleanu in 1874. Distinguished people of the era passed through this building, and on December 8, 1917, after the victory in Mărăști and Mărășești, it was signed here the armistice between the Romanian army (led by General Al. Lupescu) and the Central Powers (represented by General Von Morgen).
