The Zlataust Church, in its first version, dates from the 16th century and was rebuilt in 1683 by Gheorghe Duca.
According to the inscription, the church was erected in only 30 days, but this is an interpretation, because the documents of the time confirm that Duca Vodă only restored the stone church built by Eustațiu Dabija in 1663, on the site of an old wooden church.
In the churchyard is the grave of the singer Barbu Lăutarul, buried here in December 1861, as well as the graves of the parents of De Max, the tragic genius of the French Comedy, according to the name given by Jean Cocteau.
The brothers Ionel and Alexandru O. (Păstorel) Teodoreanu grew up on the same street. The memories of the first of them, recorded in the novel "Casa bunicilor", bring to mind moments spent in the house at number 7.
Ionel Teodoreanu (1897-1954) was part of the "Romanian Lives" circle, standing out through his predominantly lyrical prose, rich in metaphors, nostalgically evoking the universe of childhood and adolescence ("Childhood Street", "La Medeleni"), through novels sentimental ("Lorelei") and fantastic ("Turnul Milena"), as well as through memoiristic writings inspired by the patriarchal atmosphere of Iasi ("La casa bunicilor", "Masa umbrelor").
Alexandru O. (Păstorel) Teodoreanu (1894-1964), writer in the magazine "Viăța romănească", a notable representative of the Romanian epigrammatic spirit, approached the humorous prose with finesse, imitating the style of the chronicle ("Chronicle of the mask of Vălătuc"), satirical pages ( "Small satisfactions"). He also expressed himself in symbolist lyrics ("Caiet", "Hospice songs") and epigrammatic ("May wormwood stanzas", "Wine and water"), essayistic ("Incense and poison"), and made translations .
