The Museum of Jewish Culture in Maramureș is located in the birthplace of Elie Wiesel, where he was born and lived until he was 15 years old. This museum is located on Dragoș Vodă street in Sighet and presents the history and Jewish culture of Maramureș.
The exhibition includes period objects, furniture that belonged to Jewish families in the area, cult objects, relevant documents and photographs, as well as reenactments of the Holocaust in Maramureș and Northern Transylvania.
The museum also includes two reconstructed Jewish houses in the Village Museum, contributing to a deeper understanding of the Jewish community in Maramureș.
