Lake Ţaga Mare is a reservoir located in Cluj county, which was built to protect against floods. Over time, the lake also became a fish farm, and today it is an important fishing spot.
The lake was created by building a dam that separated the Ţaga Mare and Ţaga Mică lakes. The surface of the Ţaga Mare lake is approximately 100 ha, and this represents approximately one third of the total areas created for fishing purposes in the Transylvanian Plain.
