The Beldiman-Penescu House, classified as a historical monument, was built at the beginning of the 19th century and has undergone numerous repairs and transformations over the years. It became known as the residence of the influential Beldiman boyar family, but also due to its role in the development of the Romanian press, as the first editions of the newspaper *Adevărul* were printed here.

In 1899, the building located on Păcurari Street belonged to the Micu family, and around 1925 it was owned by the lawyer Leatris, who demolished the old wall surrounding the property. Later, the building was also inhabited by the mayor Constantin B. Pennescu.
