The Sfântul Elefterie Vechi Church, built in the 18th century, is a typical example of a beautiful and well-built church, reflecting the style of the Romanian craftsmen of that period.
Originally, the church was located on the edge of a lake, which gave it a picturesque appearance. It was also famous for its miracle-working icons, to which especially couples in love came to pray.
Near the church, in the time of ruler Moruzzi, there was also a well with very good water, called Cismeaua beizadelelor, because it had been discovered by the three sons of the ruler.
