Casa Simu, built in the period 1903-1911 by master Venturini in the style of mountain villas, served as a summer residence for Anastase Simu, an acclaimed collector of Romanian art. The imposing construction is completed by an ornamental pool, decorated with stone statues arranged in niches and on the edge.
Anastase Simu (1854-1935) founded the Simu Museum in Bucharest and, after completing his studies in Paris and Brussels, he was appointed a member of the Advisory Council of the Arts. In 1913, he became an honorary member of the Romanian Academy.
In love with art, Simu managed to gather an impressive collection of Romanian and universal works of art, which he donated to the state in 1927.
