It functioned as the Military Building, Hospital for troops and non-commissioned officers

We find it on the north-western side (from the Cernei Mountains) of Hercules Square, being framed to the north by the Roman Catholic Church, and to the south by Pavilion 6.

It was built in 1821, intended as an accommodation unit for soldiers from the border guard regiment.  Initially, it had an accommodation capacity for 140 soldiers and 5 rooms for officers.  Between the years 2009 - 2011, interior rehabilitation works were carried out, consolidation by pouring a reinforced concrete floor over level 1, roof restoration by replacing the frame, tiles, and in 2011, the facade was restored.

It keeps the same sober and rigorous architectural line, without external decorations that characterize the buildings in Piaţa Hercules.  To facilitate patients' access to treatment, an access tunnel was built under the street between this building and Baia Apollo.
