The hermitage at Cota 1400 was built in 1453 as a small chapel for the hermits of the area, dedicated to St. Anne, possibly due to the similarity of the relief with the Hermitage of St. Anne on Mount Athos, from where many monks emigrated after the fall of Constantinople.

Archimandrite Nifon, abbot of the Sinaia Monastery, mentions in the monograph of the hermitage about the last hermit, Innochentie, who came to the Sinaia Monastery in 1826. Innochentie was ordained a monk and ordained a hieromonk, and in 1851 he decided to live in the desert at St. Ana until his death sa in 1877, coming to the monastery only for services and food.

Innochentie was known for his gentleness and advice, being visited by Barbu Catargiu, who brought him a new coat every year. Innocent had his tomb prepared in a rock, but was buried at the monastery after he fell ill and died in the fall of 1877.

Starting in 1995, the hieromonk Ioanichie Șoncuteanu started building a new hermitage in memory of the old one, 500 meters from the old cave, with the blessing of Patriarch Teoctist and the support of the faithful, including the founders Ioanichie, Dumitru Costică, Iustin Gâtej, Florin Chiriac, Dan Ionel and the mayor Vlad Oprea. The chapel was consecrated on August 6, 2008 by PS Varsanufie Prahoveanul, in the presence of Patriarch Daniel and several hundred believers.

The hermitage of St. Ana at the 1400 level continues the tradition of hermits, praying for salvation, tranquility and peace.
