The "Holy Trinity" Monastery in Ionești, also known as the "Terrible Judgment" Monastery, is located in the village of Ionești, Buzoești commune, Argeș county. It is located approximately 7 kilometers from the city of Costești, on the road connecting the towns of Costești and Roșiori.

The construction work of the monastery began in 1999 and was completed in 2019. By building this place of worship, the monastic tradition was renewed in Ionești, after a break of about two centuries. It seems that there was a religious settlement in the area since the reign of Michael the Brave. According to tradition, a captain of the monastery, named Radu, received the estate from Mrs. Stanca, the ruler's wife.

Historical documents show that in 1785, in the same places there was a monastery of monks called Butoiul, located in the Plescări Valley and belonging to the Butoianca estate.

In addition to written testimonies, local legends speak of the spiritual character of these places. It is said that in 1997, an old man from the village had a dream in which the Mother of God appeared to him for three nights in a row, asking him to build a place of prayer and rest near the fountain in Ionești. The old man told the villagers about the dream, and with their support he erected a cross exactly in the indicated place.

The villagers say that during the consecration of the cross, three crosses appeared in the sky, in the form of clouds – one at sunrise and the other two at sunset.

The story of these events spread quickly and attracted many believers to the hamlet in the commune of Buzoești, making this place a pilgrimage point known for its alleged miraculous powers.

The commune of Buzoești is located in the southern part of Argeș County, 32 kilometers from the municipality of Pitești. The national road DN 65A, which connects Pitești and Roșiori de Vede, passes through the locality, and from the village of Vulpești starts a county road, DJ 504, to the city of Alexandria.
