The Valea Oilor Lilac Reserve is a protected area of ​​national importance, classified in the IV category of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), namely a floristic nature reserve. It is located in Tulcea County, on the administrative territory of the Ciucurova commune.


This natural area is located in the central-western part of Tulcea County, in the central-northern region of the North Dobrogean Plateau. It is located in the northern part of the Ciucurova village, being located near the national road DN22A, which connects the Topolog locality and the Nicolae Bălcescu village.


The reserve was officially designated as a protected area by Law No. 5 of March 6, 2000, published in the Official Gazette of Romania No. 152 of April 12, 2000. The law regulates the approval of the National Spatial Planning Plan, the section dedicated to protected areas. The total area of ​​the reserve is 0.35 hectares.


The protected area extends over a hilly terrain, formed by limestone and conglomerate rocks, within the Babadag Plateau. The main purpose of the reserve is the conservation of the common lilac (Syringa vulgaris), a shrub of the Oleaceae family.
