Piatra Buhei, designated as a natural monument, is a protected area of ​​national importance, classified according to IUCN category III, which means that it is a nature reserve with geological and paleontological specificity. It is located in Suceava County, on the territory of the city of Câmpulung Moldovenesc.


This natural area is located at the base of the Rarău Mountains, in the central area of ​​Suceava County, in the eastern part of the municipality of Câmpulung Moldovenesc. It extends on the right slope of the Izvorul Alb valley, a right tributary of the Moldova River, being located near the county road DJ175A, which connects the localities of Chiril and Câmpulung Moldovenesc.


The nature reserve occupies an area of ​​2 hectares and was declared a protected area by Law no. 5 of March 6, 2000, which approves the National Land Management Plan – Section III, relating to protected areas. This includes an outcrop of particular value from a geological and paleontological point of view, located on the right slope of the Izvorul Alb Stream.
