Paniova Forest is a protected area in Romania, classified as a Site of Community Importance (SCI), covering an area of 1,908.9 hectares, being located entirely on land.
The center of this protected area, called Paniova Forest, is located at coordinates 45.858025° north latitude and 21.754506° east longitude. The area of the site is located in Timiș County, on the administrative territories of the Ghizela and Secaș communes.
The Paniova Forest site was officially recognized as a Site of Community Importance, under the code ROCIC0338, in September 2011. The decision was taken in order to protect an unknown number of species of spontaneous plants and wild animals that live in this area.
This protected natural area is part of the continental ecoregion and includes a single type of natural habitat: the Pannonian-Balkan forests of Turkish oak and sessile oak.
The reason why this area was designated as a site of community importance is the existence of an undeclared number of protected species within the perimeter of the area.
