The Roșoșa Forest is a natural area recognized at national level for its ecological value, classified in category IV according to the IUCN classification, i.e. a forest-type natural reserve. It is located in Suceava County, within the Moldovița commune.
This protected area is located in the north of Suceava County, within the Bucovina Mountains, a mountainous subunit that is part of the Eastern Carpathians. The total area of the reserve covers 205 hectares.
The status of a natural reserve was obtained by Government Decision no. 1,143, issued on September 18, 2007, a normative act that regulates the regime of protected areas, as well as the conservation measures of natural habitats, flora and wild fauna in Romania. The Roșoșa Forest is intended to protect a spruce forest (Picea abies), with specimens that are over 100 years old.
