Fetești Marsh is a protected area in Romania, recognized as a Site of Community Importance (SCI), covering an area of 2,110.9 hectares and located entirely on land.
The center of this protected area is located at the coordinates 44.340708° north latitude and 27.802817° east longitude. The territory on which the site extends includes the commune of Borcea in Călărași County, as well as the municipality of Fetești in Ialomita County.
The site called Fetești Marsh, identified with the code ROCIC0319, was designated as a site of community importance in September 2011, the purpose of which is to conserve four animal species.
This protected area is located within the steppe ecoregion and includes a single type of natural habitat, namely galleries of Salix alba (white willow) and Populus alba (white poplar).
The main reason why this site was designated is the presence of several protected species, namely: two species of amphibians — the red-bellied toad (Bombina bombina) and the Dobrogean crested newt (Triturus dobrogicus); one species of mammal — the river otter (Lutra lutra); as well as one species of reptile — the pond turtle (Emys orbicularis).
