Lake Izvorul-Mușeteica is a protected area of national importance, included in IUCN category III (mixed nature reserve), located in Argeș county, in Nucșoara commune.
This nature reserve was declared a protected area by Law No. 5 of March 6, 2000 (which approves the National Territorial Development Plan - Section III, protected areas), being located in the southern part of the Făgăraș Mountains, with an area of 0.30 hectares.
The natural area, designated as a natural monument, represents a lake of glacial origin, located under the ridge of Vârful Mușeteica mountain, which has an altitude of 2,448 meters.
