The Periteașca-Leahova Reserve offers favorable conditions for wading birds and numerous winter guests.
The wildlife reserve with an area of 3900 hectares is located in the Razelm—Sinoe lagoon complex.
Here we find the most densely populated area with shorebirds, such as the great merganser (Anser albifrons), the lesser merganser (Anser erythropus), the mallard (Glangula hyemalis), the mallard (Bucephala clangula), the mallard (Anas crecca), the duck spoonbill (Anas clypeata), tufted duck (Netta rufina), red duck (Aythya niroca), yellow heron (Ardeola ralloides), common plover (Botaurus stellaris), night heron (Nyctocorax nyctocorax) and others.
