The Cuciulat cave is located in the village of the same name, which is part of the commune of Letca. The village of Cuciulat is located on the right side of the Someș river, at the foot of Prisnel Hill, in Sălaj county.

The cave is famous nationally and internationally because the first Paleolithic rock paintings in Romania were found here. The most remarkable of them is called "The Horse of Cuciulat." Scientists have concluded that the cave paintings here are the oldest of their kind in southeastern Europe.
