The Roman Catholic Church in Cozmeni, Harghita County, dates back to 1333, a parish church. The church is dedicated to the saints "Cosmas and Damian", who, according to legend, were doctors.

The church is surrounded by a large wall, dating back to the 17th century. This, however, did not protect it from the siege of the Ottoman troops of Ali Pasha, who burned the surroundings.

It was built between 1653-1670. It is guarded by a fortified defensive wall. On the wall we can see the commemorative plaque from 1720 with the data on the victims of the plague of 1719 in Ciucul de Jos: 11,324 dead, 14,562 survivors; in Cozmeni alone, 826 dead and 1,124 survivors. In the 13th century, but not later than the papal conscriptions, a Romanesque church stood on the site of the present church, of which only some carved stone ornaments remain. Their forms show a great similarity to those found in the 12th century French church in Sinsonais. Later it was completely rebuilt in Gothic style. The sanctuary retains this state, the nave only partially preserves the Gothic elements. The nave in its current form has many elements characteristic of the Baroque style, the side gates date from the 15th century, the remaining elements come from later centuries. The church organ is the work of the organist József Boda from 1899. Following an earthquake in 1990, a wonderful mural painting was found.

The church tower consists of several levels, the first is from before the 15th century, with a Gothic entrance gate. The building was raised in 1771-1772 in Baroque style. The "St. John of Nepomuk" chapel in the north of the church dates from 1761. The church was renovated in 1831-1833. The old bells were dismantled by Thököli's Tatars, one of which is today in the tower of the Reformed church in Târgu Secuiesc.

The old altars were replaced with carved altars; the windows were also modified. In the middle of the main altar are sculptures of the holy martyrs Cosmas and Damian, with sculptures of the apostles St. Peter and Paul on both sides. If you look carefully around the church, you will also find an artistic representation of the Hungarian king Matthias.
