This noble complex is composed of a castle, built by the Cernovici noble family between 1800-1850, with the left wing having two towers, and later, between 1850-1900, the right wing was added, as well as outbuildings, a swimming pool swimming and a lovely garden with greenhouses.
The building was erected on the site of another construction dating back to the 18th century. The dominant architectural style of the castle is neoclassical, being designed on one level and with a rectangular plan, in the first half of the 19th century. Both terraces, both the front and the back, are framed by columns with Doric resonance capitals. When the castle was completed, with the addition of the right wing, it received Secessionist influences, specific to the end of the 19th century.
Since 1956-1957, the castle, which has imposing dimensions, has been restored and surrounded by a dendrological park with rare plant species, which covers an area of 21.5 hectares. It currently serves as an important didactic and research base for students and teachers from the specialized faculties of the Western University "Vasile Goldiș" in Arad. The Macea tourist attraction is an ideal place for long walks and relaxation.
