Built between 1903 and 1906, this church was designed by architect D. Bănescu and is located on Credinței Street, at number 9. The place of worship, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, was consecrated in 1906, being erected as a sign of gratitude and homage to King Carol I (1866-1914), in the year in which he celebrated four decades of reign.
On the church's bell tower there is a stone box in which the year 1906 is carved. The building has a cross-shaped plan, with a length of 25 meters, a width of 10 meters and a height of 11.5 meters. The construction was made of stone from a local quarry, the work being carried out by Italian stonemasons established in Dobrogea.
The church tower was built of brick, and the supporting pillars, together with the stone girdles surrounding the building, were made of stone brought from the Tetechioi quarry, known today as Lespezi, located near the town of Adamclisi. The mural painting was made by the artist A. Serafim, and the sculpture of the iconostasis was the work of C.M. Babic.
Over time, the church was affected by the destruction caused by the two great world wars. It suffered damage both during the First World War, in the period 1916-1918, and during the Second World War, but was restored after each conflict.
